The purpose is to promote discussion of subjects common to all of us, and to provide an ongoing resource to share ideas and information relevant to the trade. While primarily designed for marine surveyors, and modeled after Boatpokers, a very successful Email Forum exclusively for use by members of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, the Marine Exchange is open to any member of a marine profession including yacht brokers, admiralty lawyers, marine insurance professionals, marine architects, boat builders, repair shop owners, marine mechanics, boat haulers etc.. As a condition of membership, you are expected to conduct yourself in a respectful manner. The discussions on this reflector are not moderated. Anything you post will go to everyone currently registered on the list. Because of this, there are some common sense restrictions that apply, and there is a small list of do's & ed on the list.
